We bet you have never seen a great collection like this one. And we are so proud of it!
There are 350 original travel labels displayed in our hall
it is only a small part of a broader collection made of 1800 pieces coming from all around the world. Small masterpieces we want to show you, because we love to live surrounded by beauty, and we want you to live that way.
Between the end of the 19th and the middle of the 20th century
all the famous hotels had their own suitcase labels. At the beginning they were simple stickers to put on cases and trunks, and they had a practical function: a place where to write the name of the hotel’s guest, in order to avoid any confusion. In time, though, those labels became more and more beautiful and elaborate: a distinctive icon, and thus an advertisement of the hotel, and a show off for the tourist, who could display his travel stories.
Stella, owner and manager of the Hotel Luise
has collected in the course of years more than 1.800 suitcase labels from all over the world, and you can see them now in our hall. Memories, pieces of history, design works of art, travel stories that we would like you to experience again every year, creating our own suitcase label.
