THE LUISE RECOMMENDS

FOR BIKE TREKKING LOVERS: THE SARCA CYCLE PATH
This is a feel-good ride – not too hard, but full of charm – that takes you through some of the lesser-known and most beautiful corners of Garda Trentino. Starting from Riva, hop on the lakeside bike path heading toward Torbole, then follow the Sarca River north. Before reaching Arco, take a break at the Bike Farm (yes, there's a mini farm too!), then continue on toward Dro, crossing the unmissable Roman Bridge in Ceniga. You’ll ride through fields, shady woods, and vineyards – maybe with a pit stop at the Bike & Wine Bar – before reaching the old hydroelectric plant at Fies, the surreal Marocche landscape (a massive ancient glacial landslide), and finally Lake Cavedine. Before heading back to Riva, don’t miss a visit to Azienda Agricola Pedrotti to taste their amazing Vino Santo. You’ve earned it!

FOR MOUNTAIN BIKE LOVERS: SAN GIOVANNI & LAKE TENNO
Love a good climb? The road from Arco up to Rifugio San Giovanni is about 14 km long and never boring – with a mix of gravel trails and paved stretches, and Lake Garda always peeking through in the distance. After a well-earned break at the rifugio, it’s time for the fun part – especially if you’re into wind-in-your-hair kind of rides. Cruise through the forest to Rifugio San Pietro, then descend to Lake Tenno, passing through the medieval village of Canale, and keep rolling down to Tenno before heading back to Riva.

FOR ROAD BIKE LOVERS: THE LIMARÒ CANYON
A must for every road bike enthusiast. Start climbing from Tenno up to Passo Ballino, then ride through Fiavè and descend toward Ponte Arche, surrounded by stunning woods and rolling hills on the way to the Comano Terme, From there, the cycle path runs alongside the dramatic Limarò canyon – a truly breathtaking stretch – before dropping into the Sarca Valley. The elevation profile isn’t too demanding, the tarmac is smooth, and traffic is usually light. A perfect ride.
